So you did it! You took the plunge and invested in your business with brand photography! YAY for you! While I’m over here jumping for joy excited for you, you may be wondering…
But what do I DO with these photos?”
Friend! I’ve got you! This blog post is jam packed with all the ideas on how to use your new photos…let’s dive in!

First things first right? Social media!

Let’s update those profile images!
Go through and pick ONE (I repeat…ONNNEEE) image you love the most. Preferably one of you looking at the camera and smiling, and change your profile photo across all of your platforms!
*sigh*
“But Amanda, I love SO many of them and want to use a few different ones for different platforms!”
Listen, I KNOW! I know you love all of them! But what is the one thing customers/clients value most from a company they are buying from?
CONSISTENCY.
So keep it consistent across the board!

Now that you’ve changed your profile photos to one consistent photo, let talk social media content.
It’s highly likely that this may have been the driving motivator behind you booking a brand session, but let’s chat about it anyway shall we?
I HIGHLY recommend Planoly for scheduling out your content. They have a super user friendly platform that allows you to see your grid and plan things out how you want them. I have tried several other platforms for scheduling content and this one is by far my favorite!
Going along with Planoly, I am a HUGE believer in batching content. Pick a day and label it “content day” in your calendar, where ALL you will aim to do that day is create content for the upcoming week, month, 3 months, however long in advanced makes sense for your business. Then sit down and do it!
Try and stick to your content pillars-aka the 4-5 categories that your Instagram content tends to follow. For example, mine are:
Motherhood
Brand photography clients
Product photography
Photo education
Personal or inspirational
You will very rarely, if ever, find me posting outside of these pillars. This keeps me on track and gives me a specific purpose for my brand images! If you need help figuring your pillars out, or want a better explanation, feel free to DM me on instagram or email me!

Next up: Your Website

Besides the obvious changes to your homepage photos, product photos, etc, new brand images serve as SUCH a good excuse to repost your website to our socials in a new “I just updated my site- go check it out!” Kind of way. Refreshing your site a few times a year can be such an incredible boost and serve your clients so well!

Pinterest Graphics

Are you using pinterest yet?! MY GOSH it can be such an incredible tool for your business! Especially paired with some really beautiful brand images. This will posture you as an expert in your field and flow more traffic to your *recently updated* website! Canva is my favorite program to create these specific graphics. They have a drop down menu that lists “Pinterest graphic” and allows you to upload your brand photos and create a beautiful on-brand graphic in less that 5 minutes! THE BEST!

Reel Covers/Video graphics

I know a lot of us entrepreneurs were mildly panicky when Instagram announced that they were “no longer a photo sharing app” recently, pushing users more towards video like reels and IGTV. Brand images are perfect for reel covers! Instagram even came out with a new option to crop them how you want them so no more chopped off heads in your grid from a reels cover ha!

Email Marketing/Blogging

In today’s ever changing world of social media marketing, it is SO important to have other platforms that showcase your work, and ultimately that you have control over. If old Zuckerberg decides he wants to just pull the plug on IG and facebook, would you have a backup plan? An email list or blog to reach and communicate to your clients? Incorporating brand photos into that marketing plan will show your subscribers that you are polished and professional in your brand!

There are about a hundred other ways to utilize these images, but in an effort to keep this blog somewhat short and sweet, I’ll leave you with that! If you are a client of mine and need more help with how to utilize your brand images, please reach out! I LOVE this stuff and would love to help you come up with content that fits you perfectly!
